Lunchadoo

Terms of Service

Effective October 27, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Lunchadoo LLC ("Lunchadoo", "we") for use of the Lunchadoo app and website. You accept these Terms when you tick the box agreeing to them as you create your account. Our Privacy Policy at lunchadoo.com/privacy explains how we handle information; it is a notice, not part of this agreement. Permission for a child to use Kid Mode is a separate step, described in the Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use Lunchadoo

You must be at least 18 to create an account or join a household. Children may use Lunchadoo only through Kid Mode, on a device an adult in their household manages, after the child's parent or legal guardian has given permission as described in the Privacy Policy. You may give permission for a child's use of Kid Mode only if you are that child's parent or legal guardian and have authority to do so. You are responsible for supervising children's use and for keeping your Parent PIN private.

2. Your account and household

Each household has an owner and may have other adult members the owner invites. Keep your email account secure, since we sign you in with codes sent there. You are responsible for activity in your account. The household owner can remove adult members; removed members lose access to the household's information.

These roles are different: the household owner manages members and the subscription; any adult can plan; only a child's parent or legal guardian can give or withdraw Kid Mode permission for that child; and deleting a child, or your own account, follows the steps in the Privacy Policy. Owning the household or paying for it does not give anyone parental authority.

3. Free trial

Each household gets one 30-day free trial. No payment card is needed to start. Your free trial does not automatically become a paid subscription. If you do not subscribe, you will not be charged. The trial starts when the household is created and lasts exactly 30 days. Households that existed before subscriptions launched start their trial on the day subscriptions become available. About 18 days before your trial ends, we email you the end date, the price, and what happens next.

4. Subscription, price and renewal

After the trial, Lunchadoo costs $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year, in US dollars, plus any applicable sales tax. One subscription covers every adult in the household.

To subscribe, you tick a separate box agreeing to automatic renewal. Next to it we show the price, billing interval and taxes, the first charge date and the date to cancel by, that the plan renews until you cancel, how to cancel, that the price may change, and our refund rules. Straight after you subscribe, we email you a confirmation of these terms with a link to cancel.

If you subscribe during your trial, you authorize your first charge on the trial-end date shown at checkout, and recurring charges after that. If you subscribe in the last 3 days of your trial, your paid plan starts and you are charged right away; checkout tells you this before you agree.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and we charge the payment method on file at the then-current price, until you cancel. Reminders. For the yearly plan, we email you about 38 days and again about 20 days before each renewal. For the monthly plan, we email a receipt with a cancel link after every charge, and a reminder at least once a year. Every reminder gives the amount, how often you're charged, the date to cancel by, and how to cancel. To avoid a renewal charge, cancel before the renewal date and time shown in the reminder.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number.

5. Cancelling

The household owner can cancel any time online in Settings › Plan & billing, in one step after signing in, without being asked to stay. The Parent PIN protects this from children; if you forget your PIN, you can reset it by email, or email privacy@lunchadoo.com and we will cancel for you. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. If you cancel during your trial, you are never charged. If you cancel while we are retrying a failed payment, we stop retrying. We email you a confirmation when you cancel, and we will not charge you again. Deleting your account as the only owner cancels the subscription.

6. Refunds

Except where required by law or expressly provided in these Terms (see section 14), subscription payments are non-refundable, and cancelling does not result in a prorated refund for unused time. You keep access through the paid period. We may grant additional refunds at our discretion.

If you switch between monthly and yearly plans during your trial, the change applies right away. After the trial, the switch takes effect at your next renewal date, when you are charged the new plan's price. We do not charge or credit the difference for the current period.

7. Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will retry it for about two weeks and let you know so you can update your card. You keep full access during that time. If payment still fails, your subscription ends.

8. When your trial or subscription ends

If your trial ends without a subscription, or your subscription ends, your household becomes read-only. You can still view, download and ask us to delete your information, and you can subscribe again at any time. We keep read-only households as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Price changes

We may change the price. We will email you at least 20 days before a new price applies, with the new amount, the date it starts and a link to cancel. It applies from your next renewal. If you are charged the new price and didn't want it, you can cancel within 14 days of that charge and we will refund the unused part of that period. If you subscribed before a price change was announced, you keep your original price for your first paid period.

10. Your content

You keep ownership of what you add to Lunchadoo, such as plans, foods, notes and photos. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only to provide Lunchadoo to your household. Only upload content you have the right to use. Do not upload photos of other people's children or anyone who has not agreed to it.

11. AI import

The menu and calendar import uses outside AI services to read documents you choose. Only use it for clean, school-wide documents, as explained in the app and in the Privacy Policy. AI reading can make mistakes; check imported menus and dates before relying on them.

12. Food and health

Lunchadoo is a planning tool. It does not give medical, nutrition or allergy advice, and it does not check foods for allergens. You are responsible for the food you pack and for your children's dietary and allergy needs. Always check labels and follow your school's food rules.

13. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Lunchadoo. For example, don't try to access other households' information, disrupt or overload the service, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, use it for anything unlawful, or try to get around Kid Mode protections or usage limits.

14. Our service

We may update, change or stop features. If we stop offering Lunchadoo altogether, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund any prepaid time you haven't used. We calculate that refund as your last payment divided by the days in that billing period, multiplied by the days left after the service stops, and pay it to your original payment method within 30 days. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

15. Disclaimers

Lunchadoo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we don't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

16. Limit of liability

Subject to the exceptions below and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Lunchadoo will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including lost profits.

Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to Lunchadoo or these Terms will not exceed the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the first event giving rise to those claims.

These exclusions and limits do not apply to liability arising from our fraud, gross negligence or intentional misconduct, or to liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. They do not reduce any refund required by law or expressly promised in these Terms.

Nothing in this section limits any consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived or restricted.

17. Disputes

If you have a problem, please contact us at privacy@lunchadoo.com so we can try to resolve it informally. You are not required to contact us before bringing a claim.

New Jersey law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise. Unless applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or Lunchadoo must be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey that have jurisdiction over the dispute. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in a small claims court that has jurisdiction.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or protections that cannot lawfully be waived, including rights under the consumer protection laws of the state where you live and any applicable right to bring a claim in your home state's courts.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and, for material changes, email you before they take effect. For changes that need your agreement, such as changes to price or billing terms, we will ask you to accept them in the app. Changes that affect children's information need fresh permission from a parent or guardian.
